And when a wedding gets recognized and published for it’s stunning design, that’s the icing on the cake! Today on the blog, I’m excited to share this sweet couple’s wedding that was recently featured on Carats & Cake.
Classic Elegance Wedding Featured on Carats & Cake
From start to finish, Abby and Andrew’s wedding was full of classic elegance. The morning begun with Abby and her bridesmaids getting ready at Auburn Oaks Farm’s Main House, while the groom and his groomsmen partook in a little clay shooting. Something that was so sentimental and sweet about this wedding was that the couple did a first look and portraits around the property early in the day. This allowed them to focus intentionally on what the day was all about – their most precious union – and soak in every moment they could together on this day.
Their ceremony took place on the beautifully landscaped grounds. With such a pretty setting and the pond in the backdrop, not much else was needed. For their altar, Abbey and Andrew chose a wooden cross that was adorned with florals and greenery. Guests would sit in white chairs under white umbrellas – all simple elements that together made such a statement.
Auburn Oaks Clubhouse features white washed shiplap walls, wood beams and ceilings and a brick fireplace bigger than eyes can handle. This made for the perfect blank canvas with some added warmth. We chose to build on the neutral backdrop by creating a color palette that complimented the venue’s light and airy vibe while also staying true to the tones that Abby and Andrew chose. Using ivory, white, Gold and pastel pink, we pulled in different patterns and textures to create dimension amongst the light-hued design elements. For example, a combination of velvet and lace linens. This allowed for the gold accents – like the flatware, chiavari chairs and candlesticks – to really pop. Other favorite design elements included the gold champagne tower and the perfectly styled lounge seating areas throughout the reception space.
