Name:
Stacie Hawkins
Hometown:
Auburn, Alabama
I never leave home without:
1) My phone. 2) A water bottle and coffee. 3) Usually my kids. I love that this business provides me the opportunity to spend as much time with my family as possible!
Favorite way to spend the day with my family:
We love to go hiking, go to the beach, play football outside, go swimming – anything that involves us moving and being together. But in all honesty, I love just being able to have the opportunity to spend time with my kids and husband. Some of my favorite times are when we cook together and are just being us and being silly, doing nothing in particular.
Top 3 destinations I love and why:
1) Being a southern girl, I love the Maine area for the difference it brings. 2) We used to live in Colorado, so it’s near and dear to my heart. 3) Miami is also a place my husband and I lived for a while. We had so much fun there and are always happy to go back to explore what’s new.
Favorites:
Food: I LOVE to create in the kitchen and whipping up something with whatever we have is one of my favorites.
Favorite local restaurant: Lucy’s, 100%. It’s hard not to love a restaurant whose slogan is “Good vibes only”. Lucy’s is all about locally sourced food made from the heart, amazing cocktails and creating an atmosphere that is fun and inviting.
Favorite Magazine: Southern Living! I love getting inspiration from their recipes and finding new hidden gems, restaurants and places to stay.
Favorite Wedding Magazine: Inside Weddings and Vogue. Fun fact – while I LOVE flipping through pages of stunning weddings, most of my inspiration for clients comes from architectural magazines, textile swatches, etc. Rather than replicating what has already been done, I create from scratch so that my designs are just as unique as my couples.
Favorite Starbucks Drink Order: Pumpkin spice latte or vanilla latte.
What made me fall in love with the wedding industry:
There wasn’t a specific moment that I decided I wanted to be a wedding planner & designer. But rather, it was the fact that I could take a couple’s story and vision and create something incredibly personal and special. Once my husband and I got married, that’s when things took off and it felt like God was really tugging on my heart and put me in perfect peace with where I needed to be to serve and love my couples well.
Favorite wedding details:
I love when florals are used to transform a space; seeing nods to a couple’s story through food, drink, and design elements; and that moment when the overall design comes together perfectly.
How can couples make their wedding unique to who they are?
Tie in your story and what makes you YOU throughout the entire evening. Share your story through the food that is passed, the drinks that are served, the songs played for first dances. Weave special nods through the tiniest of details like stir sticks and place cards. There’s always an opportunity to personalize the details!
A piece of advice for couples on their wedding day:
Hire a wedding planner and designer! I didn’t have one when I got married, and I wish I had. Allow someone you trust to take over, handling everything for you so that you are able to truly enjoy the planning process, your wedding day and the sweet season of being engaged. Allow yourself to let go of the control and stress of everything and simply be present in the journey!
I can’t wait to get to know you and come alongside your family on this precious journey. Check back in regularly for new posts, and please feel free to leave a comment below on topics you would like to see covered!
